Whale watching

Saffy and I had coffee and toast with Carolyn and Sue Lyons this morning to say goodbye.  We walked along the headland near Maroubra and saw whales swimming just off the coast.  Sue was the first to spot them, by the time we left there was a crowd of people watching and a helicopter hovering overhead.    What a lovely memory of Sydney to take with me to France.  Saffy also had her first experience of alfresco dining and behaved beautifully!

Waiting to Fly

We are both shell shocked from the trauma of a day with the removalists.  236 items wouldn’t fit into the container so another truck had to come for the remaining 12 boxes.  We winced and cringed as floors were scraped and large items of furniture were hoisted down from the front balcony to a guy balancing on a wooden chest on top of our dining room table which was strategically placed in the front garden.  Saffy and I sat patiently in the back garden most of the day trying to pretend it wasn’t happening.  By 6pm we were all very tired and emotional.  The house looked so dusty and scruffy when empty.  I wonder if we will ever get the painters and cleaners to…
